During a White House summit on early childhood education, President Barrack Obama announced that Chattanooga would get the money as a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The funds will serve an additional 150 at-risk Chattanooga children who are younger than three years old. Chattanooga received the largest portion of the grant funds in the state of Tennessee.
