In celebration of MLK Day, Mayor Berke and his staff held a Week of Service to highlight all the different ways you can be of service to your community.

On Day One, we shoveled dirt and worked hard to get the Hope for the Inner City urban farm ready for Spring. Day Two was an early morning trip to Blood Assurance, where Mayor Berke donated and gave high-fives to the staff. The next day a quick drop off of clothing at a Special Olympics Donation Bin. On the fourth day of our Week of Service, we dropped off old newspapers at the Humane Education Society. And day Five was a visit to the Ronald McDonald House of Chattanooga, where we hosted lunch service, got a tour, and met adorable Kyra who is fighting cancer.

Not only was this a great way to highlight giving back to the community, it was personally rewarding to witness first-hand all of the incredible service work that happens everyday in Chattanooga.
