Emergency Rent/Mortgage Assistance (CSBG and CSBG CARES)
Assistance with past due rent and mortgage payments for Hamilton County residents.
Overview
- Pays up to $3,000 of past due rent or mortgage, depending on household circumstances.
- Assistance may be received only once per program year (October 1 - September 30).
- Payments are sent directly to landlords or mortgage companies.
Eligibility
- Anyone living in Hamilton County is eligible to apply.
- Your need for assistance does not need to be directly related to COVID-19.
- In order to be approved, you must document that your income is eligible to receive this benefit.

How to apply
Download and fill out the application or contact the Office of Family Empowerment to have a paper application mailed to you.

Answer a few questions about your situation and your household.

You will be placed on our navigation list to be contacted by a navigator.

Work with your assigned navigator to complete and submit application and documentation.
After you apply
- After you submit your information, a member of the Office of Family Empowerment's Navigation Team will contact you to begin the intake process. Depending on how many applications we have, this may take a couple of weeks.
- While you wait for your navigator, gather your documents.
- The navigator will help you go through all of the other steps in the application process. They will explain each step and be a resource and support to you during the process.
