The City of Chattanooga and American Job Center Tennessee are partnering together again to provide services and training to ex-offenders ahead of the “A New Life” Job Fair at the American Job Center, 5600 Brainerd Road in Chattanooga, on Friday, April 5 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

This two-day program starts with a career prep day on Thursday, April 4 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m., which will provide job preparation training including resume building and interview skills, as well as offer free haircuts and expungement resources.

“Many of the men and women re-entering our communities often don’t know where or how to start looking for a job,” said Troy Rogers, public safety coordinator for the City of Chattanooga.

“This event is an opportunity to provide folks with the right tools, training and confidence for a second chance at life.”

Participants in the program must pre-register prior to April 4 and will be required to complete the career prep day on Thursday in order to participate in Friday’s job fair. To register call 423-643-6705 or email dmaddox@chattanooga.gov.
