After nearly $3 million in renovations, Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke and the East Lake Neighborhood Association will hold a grand re-opening of East Lake Park on Saturday, February 8 at 11 a.m.
Known as the city’s first park, the 18.5-acre East Lake Park has a history dating back to the 1800’s, previously serving as a zoo, a greenhouse and an urban fishing destination.
Renovations to the park were also made possible by grants from the Lyndhurst Foundation and Tennessee American Water.
