RIVERWALK EXTENSION PHASE 4

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Phase 4 is the final phase of the Tennessee Riverwalk connection from Downtown to St. Elmo.

Phases 2 and 3 were completed in 2016, which extended from the Olgiatti Bridge to the intersection of St. Elmo Ave. and Middle St. Phase 4  continues the Riverwalk connection from the previous endpoint to continue down St. Elmo Ave., crossing Broad St., and finish at the entrance to the Incline Railway.

This extension of the Riverwalk will open up key recreational and transportation opportunities to the residents of St. Elmo and Alton Park, enabling safe and comfortable walking and biking access from the neighborhoods to Downtown.  In addition, the S. Broad corridor was recently zoned to Urban General Commercial (UGC) which will encourage mixed-use, pedestrian friendly development that will accentuate the benefits of the Riverwalk extension.
