VW to invest $340 million in new 5-seat, Chattanooga-built SUV

Volkswagen officials said Monday they’ll invest $340 million to bring a new Chattanooga-built five-seat sport utility vehicle to the American market.

A variant of the existing seven-seat Atlas SUV already assembled at VW’s Chattanooga assembly plant, the new vehicle also is engineered and designed for the United States, officials said at the Enterprise South industrial park factory.
